Welcome to new students joining this Michaelmas term, 2019.
For the next few weeks all practices will be helping our new members get up to speed on the basics required to practice Aikido, including how to fall and roll properly to ensure safe practice. We will, of course, incorporate some more challenging techniques – the only way to learn is to practice.
You can wear any comfortable sports clothing, like long tracksuit trousers and a T-shirt, or a white martial arts suit (called a gi). For your own safety, please remove all jewellery.
The instructors will demonstrate the range of activities involved in Aikido practice including basic movements, pins, locks, throws and weapons (bokken, jo, tanto).
